Three Lives. One Village. A Lasting Legacy.
From Trihill came three different paths: one stayed to lead, one went abroad to serve, and one was taken too soon. Their stories remain part of the history of Trihill, Ballinamore Bridge, and the wider community.
Dean John Crowe
1883-1955
Born in Trihill in 1883, Dean John Crowe dedicated his life to faith, education, and service. Ordained in 1906 for the Diocese of Elphin, he served as a teacher, secretary to the Bishop, and canon of the Cathedral.
He is remembered for his leadership, dedication, and lasting impact on spiritual and cultural life.

Lawrence J. Logan / Lohan
1841–1921
Born in Trihill in 1841, Lawrence James Logan later emigrated to America, where he built a successful life as a businessman, banker, civic leader, and military figure.
He served with distinction during the Spanish-American War and remained proud of his Irish heritage throughout his life.

Malachy Geraghty
1896–1922
Malachy Geraghty was born in Trihill West and worked as a cattle jobber, travelling to fairs and markets across the west of Ireland.
In September 1922, during the Irish Civil War, Malachy was accidentally shot and killed while returning from Crossmolina Fair. His story is a powerful reminder of the suffering experienced by ordinary people during extraordinary times.
